FAQ

Do I need a Costco membership to see the eye doctor? -We are an independent group of Optometrists working inside Costco. You do not need to be a member of Costco to have and eye exam. Just simply let the front door Costco Employee know you are here for an eye exam and they will let you in.

Do I have to purchase glasses or contacts from Costco? -Our prescriptions are good anywhere you take them. You do not have to shop with Costco. Consider shopping with Costco for the high quality and low prices.

How long does a prescription last and why do they expire? -The law is two years from the exam date for an eyeglass prescription and one year for contact lens prescription. After this time the prescription is no longer valid. As time passes, changes can occur in our vision and over all eye health. Prescriptions expire to ensure your eyes are healthy and your vision remains clear.

What insurances do you take? - Check out the insurance page on our site. If you do not see your insurance you might be able to be reimbursed from you provider. Sometimes vision insurance plans have different names as well. Come in and we can check for you.

My prescription expired, what now? -Schedule and appointment or walk in, if we have availability, and we will examine your eyes. We will give you a new updated prescription at the end of your visit.

Do you have my exam information from other Costco Doctors? -Since we are an independent we do not share medical examination information with other Optometrists inside Costco. Costco does however share your purchse history from location to location. If you made a purchase it will be in Costcos system, not ours.

What do I do if I lost my prescription? -Give us a call and we can email it free of charge. Stop in and we can reprint it for you free of charge.

Can you see patients that have special needs? -We have an exam room that is wheelchair accessible. We can see patients as long as they can sit up right and respond accurately to the examination questions.

What should I do if I'm having an emergency? -For eye related emergencies please report to the nearest hospital or urgent care.

Do you see children? -We can see children starting at 6 years of age. If your child is younger consider taking them to a pediatric Optometrist who would be better equipped to see them.

Do you accept walk-ins? -We always try to accomodate walk-ins if there are open schedule slots for the doctors. Just call and ask.

I am out of contacts and need some urgently can you help me? -If you are a patient of ours come by and we will check if we have samples to get you by until your next appoinment or your order of contacts comes in.
